Welcome... and thank you for your support   round GOP symbol

Phil Bendily portrait
I want to thank you for taking the time to find out about me and to offer a couple of tidbits about me and why I am a candidate.

My name is Phil Bendily. I am a Republican running for the 103rd District in the Michigan House of Representatives. In just a few short months, you will go to the polls in the primary election (Aug. 3) to choose which Republican you want in the November general election. I can guarantee you that I am the one to choose.

We all know that Michigan is in a world of hurt - the unemployment rate for our state is still more than 14%. That, actually, is good when compared to the four counties in the 103rd District. We are facing better than 16% unemployment in the district, with the highest (Iosco County) at more than 20%. We need to get things working again. We need to fix things so we can increase job growth (which helps boost state revenues), reduce the burden of state government and keep our workforce the best there is.

On the successive pages you will learn more about me, what prompted me to run and some ideas on how we can go about fixing things.

Thank you for your support. I look forward to working hard for you when I get to Lansing. I also look forward to meeting you some day.

U.S. Navy Veteran
Loves the north country

For more than 12 years, I served in the U.S. Navy. I was one of three children (out of six) that followed our father into military service. Dad retired from the Army after 21 years. My oldest brother retired from the Navy and my youngest sister is retired Army.
What I learned in the Navy, personally and professionally, has been very profound. I found the world to be a very powerful teacher.
My grandparents owned a fruit farm in Leelanau County and I have many wonderful memories of years spent there.
